As you set sail, you’ll glide along the spring fed waters of Kings Bay, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Crystal River Preserve State Park. Keep your eyes peeled for those gentle giants, the majestic West Indian Manatees, as they are seen year round here in Crystal River. These gentle creatures are always the stars of the show, and you’ll most likely have the opportunity to observe some up-close. Crystal River is renowned for its incredible population of Florida Manatees and is known to have the largest concentration of them in the world. Because of this we are known worldwide as “The Home of the Manatees.”

In addition to manatees, the bay is home to a variety of other marine creatures, such as dolphins, otters, turtles, and a wide variety of fish.

Not only is there a lot to see in the water there is a lot to see in the sky and the trees where you can see an immense variety of birds flying about. They can be found soaring above the bay hunting for fish or simply resting on a sign or tree or perched in their nest. Each season here on the Nature Coast brings a vast array of different species from elegant herons and egrets to graceful ospreys and bald eagles, there’s no shortage of avian wonders to observe.  Your knowledgeable USCG licensed Master Captain and guide will provide fascinating information about the wildlife you encounter, as well as the history and ecology of the area.
